Gidget Breed: Catahoula Mix Age: 3 Year +/- Weight: 64 lbs Medical: Up-To Up-To-Date on Vaccinations, microchipped, Spayed Cat Friendly: Unknown Dog Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Ages 10+ House Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Location: Texas Here is an update on how Gidget is doing: In the beginning she did not seem to know what toys were – but she does now. She enjoys chewing Nyla bones. She is a super sweet and loving dog. She can be rambunctious and does jump up on people, which her fosters are trying to stop. She does settle down. She loves to give hugs when they get home or when she wakes in the morning. She will sleep cuddled up on the bed. They can wrap their arms around her, and she will sleep that way. She loves the attention but is also ok with sleeping in her crate. If you say, “I love you”, she gives you a kiss. If we kiss her, she gives us a kiss. If we make the kissy sound, she gives us a kiss. She loves to go on walks. She does well on the leash. When we come across deer, she does not go crazy but instead watches and studies them quietly. She follows us around the house. When we cook in the kitchen, she will sit next to us. We call her our kitchen attendant. Her fosters feed her a bit of 1/4 cup Royal Canin mixed with a ¾ cups of Hydrolyzed Protein. The Royal Canin alone seemed to have upset her stomach. She started suddenly drooling excessively. She is untested with small dogs, cats, or children. With our dogs she is not bothered by them and does not get involved if they fight. She also does not interact with them a lot and does not seem to know how to play with other dogs. Gidget is a good all-around gal! If you are interested in adopting Gidget, please click at the link below: CRNE Adoption Application Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered. Gidget’s adoption donation is $450 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test, is on preventative, microchip and neuter depending on age at time of adoption. If the dog is too young for a spay/neuter then they will be adopted with a spay/neuter contract and deposit. We do not have a physical shelter; all our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada. |
