HOWEVER.... He is not for the faint of heart, he needs an experienced Catahoula person that knows the Houla Brain and their ways. This is a fun dog, but you need to know how to unlock the potential that he has! Scout has a ton of potential! However, he needs a confident handler as Scout is basically an active dog toddler that needs mental stimulation as well as exercise. No children or cats. He would do best as an only dog. He’s a good boy but is working on manners and resource guarding. He has been just a bit more than a handful for his current home. Interested? Fill out an application today! After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered. Scout’s adoption donation is $300 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test, is on preventative, microchip and neuter depending on age at time of adoption. If the dog is too young for a spay/neuter, then they will be adopted with a spay/neuter contract and deposit. We do not have a physical shelter; all our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada. |
