Breed: Catahoula Mix
DOB: 08/23 +/-est Weight: 52lbs Medical: Up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped Cat Friendly: Unknown. Dog Friendly: Yes, although he will run and jump on other dogs as soon as he meets them, in an attempt to play. Kid Friendly: Yes. House Trained: Yes. Crate Trained: He does not like to be crated and sleeps with his people. Location: Clayton, NC Patch is a strikingly handsome fellow, as you will see in his photos. He is 52lbs, two and a half years old, neutered, and very loving. He is fully house trained, up to date on all vaccines, and has a microchip. He gets along well with other dogs and people of all ages. He does not like to be crated and sleeps with his people and enjoys cuddling on the couch after a hard day of play. Patch is high energy – he will eagerly ask you to throw his Kong for him and gets the zoomies when you do. He also loves his chew toys, with filled marrow bones being his favorite. He knows sit/stay/place but needs consistent reinforcement, and his leash training is in progress. We are also working on helping him understand the concept of personal space, as he will jump up for attention and climb on your lap without invitation. Because of this and his high energy level, he will do best with an active, experienced dog owner who can continue his training, give him plenty of exercise, and has a fenced yard with space for him to run around (or a playmate for him!). This is actually why we are rehoming him – our family and work situations have changed, and we can’t give him the time and energy he needs. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered. The adoption donation is $300 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test, is on preventative, microchip and Spay/Neuter depending on age at time of adoption. If the dog is too young for a spay/neuter, then they will be adopted with a spay/neuter contract and $100 deposit. We do not have a physical shelter; all our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada. |
