Ryder is a great dog to his person. Very obedient and trusting once he’s comfortable with you. Ryder loves playing catch with balls, but cheap plastic frisbees are his favorite! He also enjoys going for walks and running. Ryder has gone on a few 3-6 mile runs and loves it. Ryder’s leash etiquette is fantastic. Rarely pulls or tugs, understands very well that YOU are walking him. Obviously training treats help, but even without them a few “good boys” and pets and he feels just as rewarded.
Ryder is spatially protective. He loves the outdoors, but inside he’s a little more cautious of those who come near him. He LOVES a crate, keeping the door open he loves going in and snuggling up with a toy or blanket to relax. Ryder does like to sniff around and explore new places. Ryder will love someone that can play fetch, take him on walks or runs, as well as someone who enjoys snuggling and giving him tons of belly scratches!
If you are interested in adopting Ryder, visit our website and download the application: http://www.nehoularescue.com/adoption-application.html Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family.
If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.
Ryder’s adoption donation is $300 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test, is on preventative, microchip and neuter. We do not have a physical shelter, all of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.
