Hi, I’m Hendricks! I am a purebred Catahoula Leopard Hound Dog with beautiful blue eyes, and I am going to be a big boy! I am 7 months old and am an energetic pup who loves to play with toys and my foster siblings. I love bones, balls and snuggling with my foster parents. I get a little anxious being by myself, and will need to go to a home where I am not alone for long periods of time. Once I settle in and feel comfortable, I will relax and sleep a lot.  I would love a fenced in yard where I can run, and at-least one playful sibling! I am a good boy in the house and am potty trained. I love my crate, but sleeping on a dog bed is just as good.

I get very excited to see my foster parents if they leave, and I can’t help myself, so I jump a little, only because I’m so very excited! I’m working on this behavior though. My foster mommy calls me a canary, because I sing and make lots of fun noises when I am excited and when I play. I would love someone with Catahoula experience who will understand me. I would be good with a person or a family who will spend lots of time with me, and has another playful dog. I do need some leash work, but I would love to go on walks, hikes and runs! Maybe obedience school with my new parents would be fun too. Oh, and I love -  love -  love treats!

**Please do not consider me** unless you are a good fit, as I am an owner surrender because they did not understand me, I will be a very good dog in the right home, but I cannot be the ONLY dog, because I get lonely and anxious. I would also need to sleep in the same room as my family, because I would be worried if I were separated. Prior Catahoula Experience is Essential. Please consider loving me!

If you are interested in adopting Hendrix, please email sln2310@yahoo.com and request an application. Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family.

If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.

Hendrix’s adoption donation is $400 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test when appropriate and is on preventative, and microchip. He is not yet neutered and will be adopted with a Neuter Agreement that requires the new owner to neuter him by the age of ten months. We do not have a physical shelter, all of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.
