Meet Duke! Duke is simply the sweetest boy! He had a rough start and due to that he is a little bit of a scaredy-cat. Loud noises are still scary and even the hardwood floor is a bit intimidating at times (simply because he’s not used to it) He doesn’t react in a negative way, just wants to be in a safe place like on his bed or in your lap! This boy wants to be beside you 24/7 and LOVES TO BE LOVED!

Duke adores playing with female dogs, in fact he doesn’t stop. As far as other male dogs he’s a bit picky so I see this boy in a home with other female dogs or all by himself as the center of attention. Duke loves walks/hikes but also loves being in your lap, the perfect in between! He is very food motivated so I do believe he’ll be a quick learner! He loves meeting new people and has done well around all ages. While I’m at work Duke enjoys a bedroom to himself and does extremely well. He is a pillow chewer so I always put the pillows up but he’s getting better and better by the day. Duke is ready for his forever home so he can finally settle!

If you are interested in adopting Duke, visit our website and download the application: http://www.nehoularescue.com/adoption-application.html  Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family.

If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.

Duke’s adoption donation is $400 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test when appropriate and is on preventative, microchip and neuter. We do not have a physical shelter, all of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.
