Cupid is a 3ish year old Red Heeler looking for his furever person. He is a very sweet and cuddly boy who wants to be by your side and in your lap, we are working on boundaries, but he just wants to be loved! He is silly and playful and loves balls!
He is good with other dogs, but sometimes gets a little protective of his ball. He is a snuggle bug for sure. He would be great as an only dog as long as he is by your side! He is crate trained and potty trained and would love a large yard or farm to play in. He would make a good working dog too as long as he still got his cuddle time!
Someone with heeler experience would be preferred, he will still investigate his new space and will need some obedience. Like all heelers, he is very quick witted and a fast learner. Cats would be intriguing to him, and he does jump up for attention, he likes to hug, so I would be wary with him with young kids, but only for that reason. He would make an awesome farm hand, co-pilot, play buddy, or couch potato! He is ready for his person!
If you are interested in adopting Cupid, visit our website and download the application: http://www.nehoularescue.com/adoption-application.html Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family.
If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.
Cupid’s adoption donation is $400 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test when appropriate and is on preventative, microchip, and neuter. We do not have a physical shelter, all of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.
