Beau is a 1 year old Catahoula/Redbone mix. He is an outgoing, friendly, and happy dog who loves everyone he meets. He is house trained and crate trained. Beau is very smart and knows basic commands. He is 90 pounds, but is convinced that he is a lap dog. He will hop right on your lap for belly rubs and snuggles. Beau is very energetic and loves to play all day – either inside with his foster brother or outside playing fetch. He’ll do best in a home where he can get plenty of exercise.
He shares his toys well and doesn’t have any aggression problems. He is slightly protective of his people though, so ocassionally he will growl at dogs walking by outside, but it seems to be harmless. Beau is a very curious dog and loves to explore. Because of this he can sometimes get into things he shouldn’t – like trash or food. If food is left out on the counter Beau may try to take it. However, he’s a very quick learner and has already made a lot of progess in this area in his foster home.
Overall, Beau would be a great addition to almost any household! He is an extremely loving and sweet boy who’s happy all the time.
If you are interested in adopting Beau please email firstname.lastname@example.org and request an application. Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family.
If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.
Beau's adoption donation is $350 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test when appropriate and is on preventative, microchip, and neuter. We do not have a physical shelter, all of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.
