Abe, or Hammy is the sweetest and most low maintenance dog his foster has had the pleasure of knowing. He was an outdoor dog for the majority of his life and never knew the comfort of the couch or bed. Over the past month, he has not only been perfect with housebreaking but he has learned to trust people and be a dog. He does great with my three other dogs, a German shepherd, Catahoula mix and border collie.
Abe is extremely easy as he is content with a walk in the park or just cuddling on the couch. He enjoys hiking as well and has gone on a couple long hikes. It is amazing how well he has settled in and became part of the pack. Abe is more timid around males, due to not being around them the majority of his life. However, once he warms up to you he is a Velcro dog and will follow you everywhere. Abe is simply an amazing dog and we cant wait for him to find his forever home.
If you are interested in adopting Abe, please email email@example.com and request an application. Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue.
Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.
Abe's adoption donation is $300 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test when appropriate and is on preventative, microchip, and neuter. We do not have a physical shelter; all of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.
